|
This year we celebrate and hold tribute to Women of the Coal Camps, Heart of our Heritage! Join us at the Whipple Company Store & Museum for special events all season. Experience, hands on, some of the ways a coal camp woman would have lived. Learn some of the exceptional ways these women brought their families through some tough and rough times. A coal miners life was hard and his job life threatening, but if you were a woman living life in the coal camps you found yourself with an equally hard task. These women were caring, competent, clever, and creative. These attributes kept the coal camps running as a community of prideful folks.
