History "Coal" Camp
Thursday July 8th 2010
9:00 am-4:00pm  ages 5-14yrs  $40.00 per youth

History Camp: Travel back in time to 1893 and enter the world of the West Virginia coal miner, life in the coal camp and experiences in the company store.
As a new Coal miner with his family you will don the clothing, mine the coal, take care of your home, prepare and eat the food, plant your yard and garden, shop at the company store and learn the way life was back then.

Our Time Travel begins on museum grounds of the company store. Walking where the miners walked, our campers will be introduced to Justus Collins, the famous coal Barron that built this one of a kind building and was responsible for bringing the Baldwin-Felts detectives to Fayette county.

We are dedicated to providing a safe  and enriching environment  promoting each child's social, creative and physical development through individual and team activities.
We focus our "time travel" to children ages 5 through 14, and lead them into fun and interesting activities throughout the original Company store, interactive coal mine and  hands on Museum.

History Camp is located at the Whipple Company Store & Museum in Fayette County, West Virginia, 10  minutes from the famous New River Gorge Bridge.
